Renaissance . Baroque . Classical . Romantic

I started a study of classical guitar, self taught, 5 years ago.  It was a crash course so I could compose a baroque piece for the opening scene of a film called Blue Kentucky Girl.
The film was never completed, but my study of this music continues to this day.  I fell in love with the richness it offers.

Below are some edited bits of recordings I did 2 years ago in North Carolina.  The delightful crackling you hear in the background was my fireplace in the farmhouse I was living in at the foot of the Appalachia mountains.  These are all of my own idiosyncratic arrangements of course!  I play all the instruments too.

‘Ruby on the Guillotine’ is the Baroque piece I wrote for the movie.  The scene was the court of King Luis right before the peasants broke through the topiary signaling the start of the french revolution.  The “Ruby” being the teen Queen Antoinette!
